Back to Nature: Nearby Butterflies

Shor Park

Event Summary

Jul 1, 2023
1:00 pm
Update: Nearby Butterflies is cancelled due to predicted lightning and storms. We do have an alternative for you though!

If you'd like to meet our monarch caterpillar and a few common butterflies we caught, stop by Clingman Park for a short presentation (about 15 minutes) any time between 1 and 2:30 pm today Saturday July 1st. Its indoors so we don't have to worry about the storms.

Clingman Park is located at 2156 US HWY 50, Batavia, OH 45103. You will drive down a long driveway through fields to a building that looks like a house. That's our office. Just come to the front door.

More than 140 different kinds of butterflies have been seen in Ohio. We will look for Monarch, Swallowtails, and many more at Shor Park while we explore the intriguing world of butterflies. We will also learn about adaptations butterflies use to avoid being eaten and how to attract more to your yard.

Geared for adults
