With 56 acres of open green space, natural areas, and family-friendly amenities, Shor Park offers a wonderful place to play, explore, gather, and enjoy the outdoors.
The property became part of the Clermont County Park District in 2003 and was donated in honor of S. David Shor, who once used the expansive fields to raise and train horses. That history remains part of the park’s character today, with horse-inspired architectural details incorporated throughout the property, including the restored weathervane atop the main picnic shelter.
Today, visitors can enjoy walking paths, inclusive playgrounds, picnic shelters, open spaces, and modern restroom facilities. Shor Park also provides opportunities to experience nature through its wetlands, rain garden, and ongoing habitat restoration areas, which support a variety of birds, butterflies, amphibians, reptiles, and other wildlife.
Whether you're planning a family picnic, bringing the kids to the playground, taking a walk, or simply enjoying some time outdoors, Shor Park brings together recreation, nature, and a unique piece of Clermont County history.

Why a Rain Garden?
Rain Gardens, like the one installed at Shor Park, are depressions that can help to collect rain water that may be carrying pollutants like oils, fertilizers and other chemicals. The water is filtered with the help of native grasses, perennials and the right combination of soil types that help to retain the pollutants and slow the water flow. Not only are rain gardens a benefit to water quality, they attract native wildlife, help to feed migrating species like the Monarch Butterfly, and bring additional color and beauty to any outside area.
Wetland Restoration
Take a walk on our wooded trail and you’ll probably hear some of the chorus frogs and other wildlife that make this habitat their home. In partnership with Clermont Soil and Water Conservation District and a grant from the Ohio EPA, a Wetland Restoration Project that included invasive plant removal, stream restorations and the installation of three wetlands was implemented at Shor. The restoration will be ongoing in our efforts to create a more native and diverse wildlife areas in the county.
Picnic Shelters at Shor Park
Shor Park offers two picnic shelters that provide comfortable, convenient spaces for family gatherings, celebrations, picnics, and other group outings. Both shelters feature picnic tables, grills, electrical access, and convenient restroom facilities.
Horseshoe Shelter
Located on the left side of the parking area as you enter Shor Park, the Horseshoe Shelter provides a welcoming space surrounded by the park’s natural setting. The shelter includes eight 6-foot picnic tables and one 8-foot accessible picnic table, with seating for up to 56 guests.
Amenities include two large double grills, electrical connections, and convenient access to the park’s updated restrooms.
Bridle Shelter
The Bridle Shelter is Shor Park’s main shelter and offers the added convenience of restrooms attached directly to the structure. It includes ten 8-foot picnic tables, with accessible seating available at one table.
The shelter also features one large double grill and electrical connections, making it a convenient setting for larger picnics, celebrations, and group gatherings.
