Event Summary

Apr 9, 2026
7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
spring peeper (small frog) calling with inflated throat. Amphibian Amble in white lettering encircles it.

Newts, Frogs, and Logs, oh my! Look under logs and explore the creek for salamanders as the sun sets. After dark, hike to visit vernal pools and fish-less ponds to listen for frog calls, and hopefully spot a few. As the season progresses, different frogs will join the chorus! This adventure is rain or shine, with the exception of lightning or high wind. Extra headlamps will be available to borrow. Recommended for ages 12 and up, free, no preregistration required. Use the address 2156 US-50 Batavia, OH 45103 to navigate to Clingman Park. We will meet outside the naturalist classroom behind the Anspach Visitor Center.
