Clermont County Park District is excited to share our Adventure Pack Loan Program! We have a wide variety of adventure supplies, from backpacks to tents to trekking poles. Gear can be borrowed for up to 2 weeks, and can go anywhere in the world! Limit of two loans per person per year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who is eligible to rent the gear?
Anyone 18yrs and older with a valid ID. You do not have to be a resident of Clermont County. The gear must primarily be used by the renter.
What is the rental period for gear?
Gear can be borrowed for up to two weeks and must be returned in clean condition.
Is the gear cleaned between rentals?
Yes, all gear and backpacks are cleaned and disinfected between rentals.
I have never been camping before. Will you show me how to use the gear?
Our trained staff members are happy to help fit you with a backpack and demonstrate how any of the gear is used.
Where can I look at the gear and inventory on hand?
You can visit our Anspach Visitor Center at Clingman Park (2156 US Hwy 50, 45103) in Owensville. Staff is available T-F 8am-4:30pm or by appointment.
What do I need to rent a backpack or gear? Do I need to put a deposit down for the gear?
You will need to show a picture ID, which we will scan and keep a copy on file until the backpack/gear is returned. We do not require a deposit, but we do require some liability paperwork to be signed.
Where can I take the gear?
Anywhere in the world! Gear just needs to be returned within the two-week window.
How do I care for the gear during my trip?
Treat the gear with care to ensure it remains in good condition for the next user. Avoid setting up the tents on rough or sharp surfaces and store the sleeping pads and hammocks properly when not in use. Following these guidelines will help maintain the longevity and quality of the equipment.
Are pets allowed in the tents?
We request that no pets be taken INSIDE the tents or sleeping systems. We want you to bring your leashed fur friend on your backcountry adventure, and we want to maintain our gear for future loans.
What happens if the backpack or gear becomes damaged?
If a backpack or gear is returned damaged, a CCPD crew member will inspect it to determine if it was negligence or normal wear and tear. Depending on severity of damage the loanee could lose the privilege to rent again in the future.
What happens if I lose the backpack or gear?
If the backpack or gear is lost it is the responsibility of the loanee to assist the Clermont County Park District in replacing the item(s) or lose the privilege to participate in the program in the future.
